Prague-Kbely Airport (Czech: letiště Praha-Kbely/ICAO: LKKB) is a military airport located in Kbely, in the northeast municipal district of Prague, Czech Republic. Once Prague's principal airport, it is now used mainly as a military base for the 24th Air Transportation Base Czech Air Force (CL-601-3A, Yak-40, Airbus A-319CJ, L-410, CASA C-295M, Mi-8, Mi-17, W-3A Sokol, Mi-8, Mi8PS11, Mi-8PS9).

Kbely airfield it is utilised by military transport aircraft of the Czech Air Force, and the VIP aircraft which are used to transport Czech government and politicians. That's why I had a unique opportunity to see a beautiful silver one at this airport: CL-601-3A - Challenger with side numbers 5105 used for VIP flights with representatives of the government of the highest commanders of the army of the Czech Republic. This is a two-jet engine transport aircraft manufactured by the Canadian Bombardier Company, and is designed for long-distance flights. A prototype of this small but smart aircraft took off for the first time on 8 November 1978 (range with full fuel tanks: 6.200 km, high-speed cruise: 851 km per hour, flight ceiling: 12.500 metres, passengers: up to 19, crew 2).

Prague Aviation Museum is also located at this airport, with a collection that includes 275 aircraft. The museum celebrates it’s 55th opening anniversary this year (1968-2023).
